I'm pretty sure that if you know me or have been reading my blog, you will know that our family does public witnessing. We were at a public park today, but before I get into that, I would like to tell you about the start of our day in service.
Jay and the girls went out in early morning witnessing. Doing gas stations, laundromats, market parking lots. I stayed home and got a little more rest (Thanks a lot Chronic Fatigue!!). I was picked up by some friends that live out this way and we swapped, child for me. Child went in service early with my family in case you were wondering!
We met with our respective groups (They aren't in our field service group), and being that our group overseer has been in bad back pain, he wasn't at meeting to pick up a new territory. Its OKAY, I had a few streets to do from the other day in service. "Oh, that is a territory that we get kicked out of regularly, but let's give it a try and hopefully they won't kick us out." So I say "I was told as long as we don't go to the office, we should be okay." So we go. 2 car groups, so 10 of us. Now, are you ready for the real story?
Jay and Miss J were together, Myself and Miss C were together, and then the other couple we were with were together. The other couple and Miss C and I went on one side of the road, Jay and Miss J went on the other side of the road. THE FIRST HOUSE that Jay and Miss J went to, did not come to the door. That is not uncommon in that neighborhood. Last time we were there no one came to the door. However, this householder WAS home. They ended up calling the police. We didn't know this at the time, but hear sirens going like crazy. We laugh and say "they are coming for us". How right we were! But the funny part was, after 5 police cars show up, they bypass myself and the other sister, the brother and Miss C and go right to Jay and Miss J. Which leads us to believe that the householder looked out a window and described those two to the police. Anyway, we had to leave and went to another territory. It ended up no one home really there either, but no more police!
We drop off the other couple and headed off to the park to set up under the pavilion that was rented. That was fun. The children were able to play and we were able to sit and try to talk to people. We had a couple people come up to our carts. One was a witness sister and they were at a graduation party. We had someone else stop by and her family were witnesses but she herself was not. We had several look but not really engage. It is okay, they saw all our carts and such and maybe, just maybe, someone will go to JW.ORG.
Now onto some pictures!!!
