Daily Assignments and Satuday Service

When I wake, Oh I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the one to wake up next to you!!! Sorry.... That song was on my mind. I had to get it out!!!!!

It's another week.  And for us, another HOT week. It is official that we will not have cold weather anymore.  Unless there is some strange system that makes it this far, but that seems unlikely.  So we are in the 80-90's (26-32 degrees Celsius?) constantly.  And today, HUMID.  I guess it is all part of the South.  I mean, I have lived here 11 years, but I have yet to get used to it.  It makes my symptoms worse, thus the reason I stay in.

The girls got little cameras today.  The reason being, partially, is that I want them to have a love for photography.  They can get good enough that perhaps it will be useful in the future.  So they will have a daily assignment of picture taking.  Monday-Friday anyway.  They will be posting on their blogs, so any comments, good or bad, will be appreciated.  I will be linking to them.

They also will be having weekly drawing assignments, as well as writing assignments.  Those, or some of those, will also be on their blogs.  Each week they will be working on music, so once they get good, we will be making videos of that as well (or that is the plan).  I really want to make this year a fun school year for them.  I want them to learn a lot while enjoying it.

Saturday service was WONDERFUL this last week.  We were at a different park, and where we were stationed, people had to walk right by us to get to the pier, so we spoke to a lot.  In the afternoon there were a lot of Spanish speaking ones, so it looks like that would be a good language to work on, using the app of course!  We will be back at that park on the 6th of June, so maybe I can get an introduction by then!  However, We did 14-18 (not sure) Magazines, 1 Brochure, and 3+ books.  It was so amazing out there!  This Saturday we will be at the first park we were at, and I hope that it goes well.  I think now that we are getting all situated, that it works better.  It's all about getting a flow!

I think that is about all for today, time to make bacon so we can have some delicious grilled sandwiches for supper! Oh, and a salad, Must have something good to eat as well!

Have a super fantastic day!

Just keep swimming...

Dory:"Hey Mr. Grumpy Gills... When life gets you down do you wanna know what you gotta do?" Marlin:"I don't wanna know what you gotta do." Dory:"Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim." Marlin:"Dory, no singing." Dory:"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ho. I love to swim. When you want to swim you want to swim." Marlin:"See I'm gonna get stuck now with that song... Now it's in my head!" Dory:"Sorry."

Do you have that stuck in your head now? Sorry.  Not really since I am the one that put that there!

Ever have those times where that is all you an do? Just keep going and hope that you don't sink? I know we have all been there.  Sadly right now that is where I have been for a while.  I have been so exhausted that I can hardly move.  My joints are all inflamed.  I know my problems are small compared to everyone else, but it gets me down.  It gets me down really bad.  Summer here is bad too, and just the warm (hot) days we have had, have done a number on me. The Farmers Almanac says this year is going to be hotter than normal as well.  This doesn't go over well with me! People with MS don't need to get overheated... it's not good for them. I'm grateful for friends with pools.

I keep an eye out on the news through Twitter.  There have been so many earthquakes lately, and not small ones either.  (Matthew 24:7) I feel bad for our brothers and sisters, but not just them, all the thousands of others that have lost their home, work, family and more.  I hope that our brothers are able to help out with comfort to all those who want it.  Not just earthquake areas, but all over.

We have our meeting tonight.  I"m always happy to go because it makes you feel at home when you are with your brothers and sisters! July will be a busy month for us.  The first week we have the Circuit Overseer, then we have our Regional Convention Campaign work and at the end we have our Regional Convention! I am so super excited!  I will tell you, it is going to be hard not to download thing BEFORE the convention, but since we were told not to, I'm going to "be faithful in the little things".

Interesting Day In Field Service

I'm pretty sure that if you know me or have been reading my blog, you will know that our family does public witnessing.  We were at a public park today, but before I get into that, I would like to tell you about the start of our day in service.

Jay and the girls went out in early morning witnessing.  Doing gas stations, laundromats, market parking lots.  I stayed home and got a little more rest (Thanks a lot Chronic Fatigue!!).  I was picked up by some friends that live out this way and we swapped, child for me.  Child went in service early with my family in case you were wondering!

We met with our respective groups (They aren't in our field service group), and being that our group overseer has been in bad back pain, he wasn't at meeting to pick up a new territory.  Its OKAY, I had a few streets to do from the other day in service.  "Oh, that is a territory that we get kicked out of regularly, but let's give it a try and hopefully they won't kick us out."  So I say "I was told as long as we don't go to the office, we should be okay."  So we go.  2 car groups, so 10 of us.  Now, are you ready for the real story?

Jay and Miss J were together, Myself and Miss C were together, and then the other couple we were with were together.  The other couple and Miss C and I went on one side of the road, Jay and Miss J went on the other side of the road.  THE FIRST HOUSE that Jay and Miss J went to, did not come to the door.  That is not uncommon in that neighborhood.  Last time we were there no one came to the door.  However, this householder WAS home.  They ended up calling the police.  We didn't know this at the time, but hear sirens going like crazy.  We laugh and say "they are coming for us".  How right we were!  But the funny part was, after 5 police cars show up, they bypass myself and the other sister, the brother and Miss C and go right to Jay and Miss J.  Which leads us to believe that the householder looked out a window and described those two to the police.  Anyway, we had to leave and went to another territory.  It ended up no one home really there either, but no more police!

We drop off the other couple and headed off to the park to set up under the pavilion that was rented.  That was fun.  The children were able to play and we were able to sit and try to talk to people.  We had a couple people come up to our carts.  One was a witness sister and they were at a graduation party.  We had someone else stop by and her family were witnesses but she herself was not.  We had several look but not really engage.  It is okay, they saw all our carts and such and maybe, just maybe, someone will go to JW.ORG.

Now onto some pictures!!!

Yes!! We are a large family!

Verse By Verse Study

I decided, as my own personal study, that I would do a verse by verse study of Isaiah.  Thankfully , and part of the reason I choose this, the organization has 2 books, which are verse by verse studies of the book Isaiah.  I really enjoy prophecy books such as Daniel.  It will be exciting to get to that!!!

I have learned a lot, and how much so that it parallels our day.  I am nearly finished with the Isaiah book 1, and in Chapter 35.  I'm so super thrilled that I have my large Bible with margins where I can make notes!

My question to you... What are you doing for your personal study (not family), and why did you choose it?

Back "Home"

Tomorrow ushers in the start of our moving back "Home".  By home, I am talking about our congregation, Lakeside.  They have already put Jay to work and Miss J is so happy to go back because she knows she will be giving more talks.  She told me that by going back she knows that she will be on stage more!  My little girl LOVES being on stage!  I am happy, I would rather her want to give a talk than shy away at the opportunity.

Today has been rainy all day.  Jay went down to another town to do a roof tear down.  They are re-roofing.  Unfortunately, they ended up with rain as well.  So, instead of working, they get some Warwick training. Its really cool!!

I got Jay a nice bunch of new knives the other day.  I ended up cutting my hand 2 times.  It makes things very difficult.  Typing, playing the guitar, simple things.. The worse part, Miss J was laughing at me telling me that I need to be more careful like her!  Hush up 10 year old! Hahaha!

School begins Monday.  They will be working (schooling?) on a shortened schedule for a few months.  Basically 2 days a week for a couple of months, then after our convention they will be on a 4 day a week schedule until we leave for our trip, when they will get a good 2-3 weeks off and back to our regular schedule.  Again, that means 4 days a week.  I don't like them schooling on Friday's.
